The Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival – Officially Presented by Selection.com is a public/private partnership organized by The Middletown Area Chamber Foundation’s Ohio Challenge Committee. Since 2003 it has grown to become one of southwestern Ohio’s premier summer events and includes local non-profit organizations along with a core support of our nation’s military, past and present. The event boasts a full-festival atmosphere with mass balloon launches, skydiving, fireworks, rides, and live entertainment as up to 40 hot air balloon pilots compete for The Ohio Challenge title and BFA’s Great Lakes Regional Championship, while qualifying for the U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship. www.ohiochallenge.com

About Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation

Formed in 2005 by the Team Fastrax Professional Skydiving Team.  The Foundation provides a skydiving program for wounded veterans of America’s Armed Forces.  In 2005, the Foundation provided 27 wounded warriors with the opportunity to experience the freedom of skydiving.  Last year the Foundation took more than 350 of our heroes skydiving.  The program is primarily funded through the gracious support of Selection.com®, America’s premier background screening company and through individual donations.  The Foundation staff is made up of volunteers from Team Fastrax and 100% of funds raised go directly to support our warrior events.

In 2012 Team Fastrax partnered with the Halo for Freedom Foundation supporting an event called the Warrior Weekend to Remember in Dallas, Texas.  We fell in love with this event and decided to build upon the success in Dallas by bringing it to our home base of operations in Middletown, Ohio.  In 2014 with the assistance of the Halo for Freedom Foundation we hosted the Selection.com® Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival & Warrior Weekend to Remember. The success and community response was so overwhelming that we decided to make the Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation a non-profit 501c3 charity.  We submitted our paperwork with the IRS in January of 2015 for this status.  If receiving the tax deduction is critical to you or your organization, you can make this year’s donation through the Halo for Freedom Foundation as we remain very much involved with this sister Foundation.  Otherwise, we would appreciate you making your donation directly to the Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation.

Our foundation has one goal, “To create new memories that will last a lifetime for America’s heroes.”
